Your prayers and mine have been answered by the rebirth of this pile of hardware! Yippee! I still don't exactly what's wrong. I think it might just have been that the hard drive was overtaxed but i barely have anything on there so i don't know how that could be it...Anyway i just wanted to share the good news with you the my darling seems to be up and back to normal. This has been a very strange couple of days.

A look at Ixxie's sad living condtitions...

In this picture you can see the harsh conditions Ixxie lived under, so it's really a miracle Ixxie survived this long...If only i'd been more caring...If only...

The Death of Ixxie the X-box...

Today is a sad day. Today i lost a room mate, a brother and a friend. Today my dear X-box, known to friends as "Ixxie", passed away. During a wonderful game of "swoosh" (Star Wars:BattleFront 2) My baby reported that the disc was dirty or damaged which is no problem, it says that all the time. it's been having problems for months. So i turned it of and me and my friends went to eat supper and when we came back...my baby was dead. When i tried to turn it on it said "Your X-box requires service. Please call X-box customer support." NOOO!!! It's dead. After some attempts at bringing it back to life, some of which were sucessful for about 5 minutes. I finally gave up. And now, i must say my goodbyes to Ixxie, the greatest X-box to ever live. There are many who owe a great bit to Ixxie for all the joy he has brought into their lives. That Ixxie should be cut down in his prime proves the saying that "only the good die young". It is a sad, sad day. Here is a requeim for my dear first true love.

Never again will bullets fly and bad guys fry with Ixxie.
Never again will starships race through outer space with poor Ixxie.
No more shall we laugh, we shall only cry, for Ixxie.

I MISS YOU IXXIE!!! I still have a faint hope of getting Ixxie repaired, but that hope is just that, faint...pray for Ixxie tonight. Pray that Ixxie will be miraculasly revived by my amazing skills. And pray for those who have lost Ixxie, and who feel the loss deeply in their hearts. So to the one thing that was more than a DVD play, more than CD player, more than a game console, to what could only be called a friend, i most fondly say...Farewell........

You what neptune reminds me of? YOUR FACE!!

Actually, i wanted to blog because last night while i was staying up 'til one in the morning with my crazy two year old brother i picked up a dictionary (THE HORROR!) and started flipping through. I got to planets and this line stood out to me..."Neptune, like Uranus is a cold and distant world. It is similar in size and is also blue-green because of methane gas in it's hydrogen rich atmosphere." Now at 1 a.m. to my immature mind this was hilarious. because if you prounounce "uranus" as "your anus" than this quote really becomes quite funny. sorry, i just felt the need to share my immaturity. haha! that's funny...

Fun in the sun...well, without the sun.

Since monday i've been dying to blog about mondy night, which was loads of fun and very blog worthy. I know that you all wanna know about my weekend which was also fun but i just don't feel like blogging about right now. Monday night was just more oddly blog worthy. So anyway i knew that at some point on that gloomy, rainy monday i had to meet up with my friend Eero to get my dad's Bass Guitar fixed because Eero knew some guy who could fix it. So anyway i knew that he was supposed to call me and then we'd meet up. I knew it, i know i did. I just...forgot. So when i got called and asked if i could meet him in whatsitwhosit park next to Viru Keskus. I was happy to oblige. Except for one thing, i didn't have the guitar. it was at the corps. oops. so i had to grab the keys from my mom, jump on the tram and then go to the corps. now i looked very scary and menacing all in black with a hoody and a black wool pullover hat so i think anyone who saw me go into the the building thought i was robbing it. i did feel like i was in some kind of heist though, i was like type in the code ****** unlock the door...and...DUDE, I'M IN! YEAH! so then after jumping back on the tram with my stolen goods...er, my dad's guitar i got to the park and waited...and waited...i was 10 minutes early. so finally after five long minutes dragged by i called him.

"Can you wait five minutes?" sure, whatever, that was the time we agreed on. in the mean time i took pictures of the statue in the park using my camera, which i had of course pilfered from the office. well it was mine to began but it makes me feel cool to be like "dude, that was one seriously cool heist" then Eero showed up and we walked over to Eesti Maja resturant, the meeting place to meet this guitar fixer dude. he walked in right after us and after some discussion we settled on a diagnosis and a price. then Eero and i left and after saying good bye to Eero at the bus station i headed to the tram. this is where the fun blogworthiness started. one time when i was in the ferry terminal here in tallinn i saw an add for Vana Tallinn liquor that looked hilarious so i wanted to take a picture of it but didn't have my camera with me at the time. well i'd seen the same add at a store near the tram stop so i looked down the tracks and didn't see a tram coming so i just thought i'd be quick and take a couple of pictures. and so i did. it was quite simple then i got back to the tram stop and waited. and waited. and waited. almost half an hour. still my tram didn't come. so finally i gave up. i called my mom and said i was walking home. then just as i crossed the street to starting walking i saw my tram coming. i tried to think of my options as quickly as i could. i could J-walk and run across the street through the traffic and jump on the tram after frantically running or i could just walk home. and of course i voted for running frantically.

now i mentioned that this was a rainy night. and it was pretty dark. and slippery. so i did my best not to get hit by a car running through traffic, which gladly i succeeded in. but then i started to slip. after running across the street i noticed there was a handrail between me and where i needed to be. but i still had a little more to run so i just grabbed the slick handrail and ran until i got to where the tram was just about to stop and so i attempted to skid to a halt. what actually happened was i slipped and because of my grip on the handrail swung under it and popped up just where i wanted to be. right in the middle of the crowd. i had popped up right in front of this poor goth chick who, because of her gothic-ness, tried not to look alarmed but did a bad job hiding it. then i got in the back of the tram and my gothic friend got in the middle and we stared at each other warily. i stared because i kinda have a thing for goth chicks. and she stared cause i'm so darn goodlooking! or more probably because i had popped up and now was in a tram with her, staring at her freaky facial piercings. then she got even more freaked out when scary guy in black with funky facial hair got off at the same stop as her. then when i took the same path she did to go home shev got even more freaked. i guess she thought i was stalking her. she kind of kept looking back and then walking faster as if to outrun me, then slower as if to act like she didn't know i was there. so i finally thought i'd put her out of her misery and so i started walking faster and finally caught up with her and then started walking ahead of her. so quite relieved the girl accepted that until we got closer to her home. then for some reason she felt it neccesary to almost run to her house, revealing her home to me. so if i had been a stalker, which i'm not, i would be most interested. but anyway out of the whole experience i got some fun andearned that a goth chick lives down the street from me. all in all a fun night. now i must bid thee adieu! Cya!

11 year celebration coming up...temptation

Why do we have a 11 year celebration? who knows? 10 year made sense. and 15 year os only logical. but 11? just more work for me...anyway this weekened is the big fat celebration. people from Narva, Tartu, V6ro (sorry, still don't have Estonian letters) and Tallinn will all get together and partay to celebrate the 11th year of the Salvation Army being in Estonia. i can't wait because it means i get to flirt with 3 times as many girls (haha, yeah...) and also it's just fun to party. but with great power comes great responsibility, and with great fun comes great work. and because of the fact that we have British regional commanders whenever we have a celebration some group of wierdos from britain come to party with us. so we have some big band from Hythe (as in Scythe) in England who will come with their big heavy instruments and guess who will have to carry them...ME! gotta love it. so anyway that will be fun hard work. but besides that things will be hard for me because of (as i mentioned before) the large amount of attractive my age females. it makes me feel like Sir Galahad the Pure when he goes to castle Anthrax ("not a very good name, is it?") in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" and is faced with 8 score (150) blonds and brunettes between the ages if 16 and 19 and a half who do nothing but sit around all day "bathing, dressing, undressing, making exciting underwear..." i love this scene because despite the fact that at the end poor Sir Galahad gives into the temptation he fights it quite admirably. and i love how he cries out "I am sworn to chastity!" as the 2 "doctors" try to examine his, uhm, more sensitive areas. poor guy, that's some serious temptaion and i understand his plight. but the best part of the scene is at the end Sir Lancelot and two un-named knights charge in and save their friend from extreme peril and certain temptaion. and even after being saved Sir Galahad still protests "Can't i go back and face the peril?" to which Lancelot replies "No, it's too perilous" Galahad:"Can't i have just a little peril" Lancelot:"No, it's unhealthy" Galahad:"I bet you're gay..." Lancelot:"No i'm not!" so anyway back to my point that despite that i spend all my time with attractive teenage girls anyway this weekend will be especially tempting and i will be feeling quite like Sir Galahad. so just so everyone knows if you're feeling rather like a Lancelot and feel the need to charge in...can't i have just a little peril? NO!! charge in please. but most of you reading this won't be there on saturday when the peril will begin in earnest so if you still want to help me out you can pray for me. that would be really cool of you. anyway i actually had one more thing on the subject i wanted to write.

1 Corinthians 10:13 says "No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it." now that's a great verse but as we learn from Sir Galahad just because there's a away our doesn't mean we want to escape or will take it. and just because we can bear the temptation doesn't mean we'll not still give into it. and it's obvious it's common to man, look around. so just because there's always a way out (my personal favorite the "Joseph Method" tempted? RUN!!!) doesn't mean you'll use it. that's my problem, so that's why i need prayer. because i want a little peril, i just know i can't have it. oh, the great paradox of life. i want it but i can't have it because i am denying myself. i heard an interesing analogy lately. why ask how far is too far? when you're driving on a road on a mountain you're not asking how close to the edge. but the only problem is with me i'd be asking how close i could get to the edge 1. so i could check out the view and 2. because i'd love the headrush of being on the edge. so sorry for destroying a nice analogy. anyway, that's my problem, i think i'm sort of going on and on with no point here now so i'm gonna take off and eat something. Cya!

Abstinence according to The Simpsons...

Well according to Milhouse mostly, thus the cool picture. i know by even mentioning the name "Simpson" i am making much christian blood boil. i know this is a controversial subject but that's why i like it. plus the show is stinkin' hilarious! but i wanted to say that one of the most convincing arguments for abstinence i have heard i heard on the simpsons from my buddy Milhouse, the nerd ("I'm not a nerd! Nerds are smart...") who reminds me of me with blue hair and glasses. now in one episode he had a "girlfriend". i put that in quotes because this dude's like 10 years old. but with this girl he had his first kiss and many great lines were exchanged. such as "Girl:I told my dad i was going to get my braces examined. Milhouse:Well you kinda are...huhuha" and i love Bart's reason for not wanting to allow a girl into the tree house:"What if i wanna walk around naked or somthing?!" so besides just being a great funny episode of everyone's favorite yellow skinned TV show what inspired me to abstinence here almost more than anything else? well Bart, quite curious about why the heck Milhouse would want to kiss an icky girl asks the obvious question:why? and Milhouse replies (if i remember correctly) "I'm not sure, it's not even the kissing that's so great, it's the waiting." hmmm....interesting. now just imagine multiplying that by several years of waiting then how good will all the blessings of marriage be for having waited for them? i love the simpsons.

now this is more inspiring to me then the king of evil John Holzmann. well maybe king of evil is an exageration but he definitely wants me dead or very unhappy. not sure which. but he's working on both. to make me unhappy he did two evile things. First he designed my homeschooling curriculim (Evil). and second he wrote the book dating with integrity, which i completly agree with, but hate.(Evil) and it's not completely true that The Simpsons is more inspiring than John Holzmann but i just feel i should hate him. well not hate, dislike with a passion. so anyway now that i've said my negative bit about my arch nemesis and my positive bit about my true love, Milhouse Vanhousen (i think that's his last name) i'm gonna go. so Cya!

Prayer walking and crazy biking!

Today i had two big highlights, which, as you may have guessed from the title, were prayer walking and crazy biking! at 2:30ish i chased down a tram (literally, running that fast with a bible in your hand is not suggested) and got to the corps about a half hour early. so i used that time to play with the keyboard(when you set the sound for strings it's so easy to sound cool!) and get ready for the walk. today it was real more of a reconnaissance/praise walk. praise walk because in bible study like 2 weeks ago we had planned to have a praise walk and had never done it. but today we had most of the people from bible study there so we did the praise walk. we walked around Kopli and read Psalm 148 out loud, which was fun because my bad accent was made worse by having to walk and read at the same time. at the begginning i had asked if anybody knew of anything in the area that needed prayer that we could walk to and Anneli mentioned Kalamaja park, which i didn't know but is apperantly a big place place were people do drugs. so we went there and prayed for the park and walked around and despite the fact that there were no addicts around i still felt it did need to be prayed for. so it was good.

then after coming home i felt the need for speed. so i whipped out my bike and sped off for Kadriorg park. I'm glad i did this ride because since it's getting more cold and winterish i'm getting more worried i won't have a chance to ride again until spring. and i love Kadriorg park because it's just the perfect combination of hills and paths and trees and size. i love it. and now that i'm getting used to it i know where i can go fast, and where i can do crazy daredevil nuttyness. i haven't crashed yet but i'm working on it. someday i probably will, but not today. so the interesting thing today is i got to see them taking the coins (or what looked like taking coins) out of the fountains in between the two palaces. very interesting. so anyway i gotta go now because i'm getting sleepy here. Cya!

A comic strip and a poem

Don't you just love that? it just cracks me up. this is how my little brother is. he has recently turned a tape measure into a lightsaber and a shoehorn into a sword. i personally think that girl's spoon looks like a club that would be perfect for beating my foes into bloody submission. but us guys are like that so...i promised you a poem? but first i would like to put out a thank you to Mr. Matthew Champ because i was waiting for someone to comment and say luck is for pagans. i almost said in my blog post but then i thought "that's not my saying, i won't steal it." anyway, the poem. the poem is "Is my team plowing" by A. E. Housman. i love this poem. i think it's funny despite the fact that it's a friend talking to a dead guy. "I cheer a dead man's sweetheart, never ask me whose." love it...

"Is my team plowing"
By A. E. Housman
“Is my team plowing,
That I was used to drive
And hear the harness jingle
When I was man alive?”
Ay, the horses trample,
The harness jingles now;
No change though you lie under
The land you used to plow.
“Is football playing
Along the river shore,
With lads to chase the leather,
Now I stand up no more?”
Ay, the ball is flying,
The lads play heart and soul;
The goal stands up, the keeper
Stands up to keep the goal.
“Is my girl happy,
That I thought hard to leave,
And has she tired of weeping
As she lies down at eve?”
Ay, she lies down lightly,
She lies not down to weep:
Your girl is well contented.
Be still, my lad, and sleep.
“Is my friend hearty,
Now I am thin and pine;
And has he found to sleep in
A better bed than mine?”
Yes, lad, I lie easy,
I lie as lads would choose;
I cheer a dead man's sweetheart,
Never ask me whose.
Now that's some good poetry. i like it a lot and i hope you did too. anyway i have to go lead a prayer walk in an hour and therefore should probably get dressed. Cya!
